In 1980, Herb and Rhoda Singer founded Discount Car and Truck Rentals in Hamilton, Canada. A privately owned company, Discount proved to be an industry leader from the beginning; it is the first Canadian car and truck rental company to specialize in vehicle replacement rentals in the auto insurance industry. Discount’s client pick-up and drop-off service: "We want your business and we'll come right to your front door to get it!"™ is a well-known initiative in the industry.
Today, Discount operates more than 300 branches across Canada, with over 115 in Quebec, and some parts of Australia.  It will soon expand to the US and in time, other parts of the world.

Discount in Quebec
The first Discount outlet located on 607, rue de Maisonneuve in Montreal, Quebec, opened its doors in 1985. The second outlet located on 6740, boulevard Décarie in Montreal, was inaugurated in 1986. Thereafter, five more locations were established before the end of 1987.
A team of competent and dynamic individuals have been working very hard from the beginning to develop the Quebec market. As a result of their efforts, incredible growth was achieved between 1990 and 2000; and since 2008, Discount has been operating more than 115 branches across Quebec.
